Make a Difference

By Sicebise Msengana

javesca.com

There are eternal optimists who will lie in your face and tell you what you want to hear. Modern humans first appeared around 200,000 years ago.  Much time is spent on discussing ways to ‘help’ the world but no real help is ever sent. Minorities groups like Native Americans, atheists, pygmies, albinos, San, Australian aborigines, homosexuals, women and children ( mostly girls) are still oppressed. Religious and political leaders are given right to preach hate, intolerance and the need to rid the world of non-believers. Why there is no public outrage? Simply because we use different strokes for different people. Nation against nation fighting, each other for dominance—on land, air and sea. Tribe against tribe. Widespread terrorism, mass rape, massacres and wars raging all around the globe. We are the only species that boasts about taking man to the space. Yet we cannot living peace in earth.

Remembering Nelson Mandela

By Sicebise Msengana

"I am not a saint, unless you think of a saint as a sinner who keeps on trying." -Nelson Mandela

I admired him not only for  success in his political career, but also because of his work ethic and courage.

Nelson Mandela was a man who dedicated himself in fighting apartheid. Things didn't have to be this way, but he sacrificed 67 years of his life in service to his people. After the so-called "peaceful" transition to a democratic South Africa,  20 years of power, and the majority of African South Africans are still poor, while whites have  gained significantly from the deal we made with the devil.

Up From Slavery

By Sicebise Msengana

Chapter I. A Slave Among Slaves

I was born a slave on a plantation in Franklin County, Virginia. I am not quite sure of the exact place or exact date of my birth, but at any rate I suspect I must have been born somewhere and at some time. As nearly as I have been able to learn, I was born near a cross-roads post-office called Hale's Ford, and the year was 1858 or 1859. I do not know the month or the day. The earliest impressions I can now recall are of the plantation and the slave quarters--the latter being the part of the plantation where the slaves had their cabins.

My life had its beginning in the midst of the most miserable, desolate, and discouraging surroundings. This was so, however, not because my owners were especially cruel, for they were not, as compared with many others. I was born in a typical log cabin, about fourteen by sixteen feet square. In this cabin I lived with my mother and a brother and sister till after the Civil War, when we were all declared free.

Malcolm X Quotes on Human Rights

Sicebise Msengana

1. "Well, I am one who doesn't believe in deluding myself. I'm not going to sit at your table and watch you eat, with nothing on my plate, and call myself a diner. Sitting at the table doesn't make you a diner, unless you eat some of what's on that plate. Being here in America doesn't make you an American. Being born here in America doesn't make you an American. Why, if birth made you American, you wouldn't need any legislation, you wouldn't need any amendments to the Constitution, you wouldn't be faced with civil-rights filibustering in Washington, D.C., right now. They don't have to pass civil-rights legislation to make a Polack an American."

The dangers of "Takeaway" History

By Sicebise Msengana

W. E. B. Du Bois said: "We cannot if we are sane, divide the world into whites, yellows, and Blacks, and then call Blacks white." Today, our children are fed with half-truths and lies. We are taught that first and greatest human civilizations were not from Africa. Some academics rather attribute the pyramids in Egypt to some ancient alien race.

Africa is for Africans

By Sicebise Msengana

I want to bring something important to your attention. It's a shame that they [Europeans] draw old tired arguments to justify land grabbing. I'm a xhosa and it is generally accepted that Nguni tribes migrated from Western Africa to Southern Africa some thousands of years ago. By the time Europeans landed on our shores my Xhosa ancestors were well established in the area. But notice how they [ Eurocentric scholars] distorted historical facts and said both groups arrived at the same time. It didn't stop there.

They also committed several genocides against the Xh

QUOTES FROM MARCUS GARVEY

By Sicebise Msengana

"The Black skin is not a badge of shame, but rather a glorious symbol of national greatness"

"Behind the murder of millions of Negroes annually in Africa is the well organized system of exploitation by the alien intruders who desire to rob Africa of every bit of its wealth for the satisfaction of their race and the upkeep of their
bankrupt European countries."

The Greatest Second Class Citizens

By Sicebise Msengana

What wrong with me?
Why cant I see things clearly?
What did I lack in my liberation effort?
Why do I continue to believe things will get a lil betta?
Cause I believe what my master wants me to believe,
which makes me the greatest second class citizen in history!

My people generate over $800 billion in this land.
We have the amerikkkan economy in the palms of our hands.
But instead of investin' where we live-
We continue our naivete and continue to give-
power to Tommy Hillfigga like dumb niggas!
And that crakka can't even stand you or me
Even HE realizes we the greatest second class citizens in history!

There were about 70 scientists working on a very hectic project. All of them were really frustrated due to the pressure of work and the demands of their boss but everyone was loyal to him and did not think of quitting the job.

One day, one scientist came to his boss and told him – Sir, I have promised to my children that I will take them to the exhibition going on in our township. So I want to leave the office at 5 30 pm. His boss replied “OK, You’re permitted to leave the office early today”. The Scientist started working. He continued his work after lunch. As usual he got involved to such an extent that he looked at his watch when he felt he was close to completion. The time was 8.30 PM. Suddenly he remembered of the promise he had given to his children.

According Wikipedia, there are roughly 4, 200 religions in the world. With each religion is a God or gods. While Christianity, Islam and Judaism are monotheistic religions, some religions such as Hinduism boost up to 33 million gods or more as shown in the Huffpost study.

Revelation 20:15 says, " And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE."

Why Do You Hate on the Female So Hard ?

By Sicebise Msengana

Why Do You Hate on the Female So Hard ?
Who Else Can be Your Wife, Your Lover, and Friend ?
When You Denigrate the Woman, You Can't Possibly Win.
Who Else is Gonna Bear Your Child ?
Who's Gonna Love You, When There are No Smiles ?
Women Raise Tomorrow, that's for Sure
Their High Self-Esteem, Men must Insure.
You Think It's Cool, to Call Her a " Ho ".
When It is to Her, for Comfort and Family, You must Go.
Why Do You Spit out Misogynistic Words ?
Don't You Know to the World, You Look Absurd ?
Only a Fool Bites the Hand which Feeds Him.
We Can Never be Divine without Them.

The Real Medusa

By Unknown author
Pic: Sicebiseonline

Medusa, a real woman, was the Afrikan serpent-goddess said to have worn a pouch around her waist containing live snakes that represented wisdom and renewal. She was said to have carried the original Gorgon mask to frighten off the unskilled, and it was painted red to symbolize the power of menstrual blood with “gruesome glaring eyes, bared fanged teeth and, like the Hindu Goddess Kali, a protruding tongue” Goddess Inspired . Her name
derived from Egyptian Maat (Truth) “which also gives us the words medicine, mathematics, and Sanskrit medha (

The Giving Tree

By Sicebise Msengana

Once upon a time, there lived a big mango tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the mangoes, took a nap under the shadow… He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by, The little boy grew, and he no longer played around the tree.

Last Message: Unity

Distinguished guests, brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen, friends and enemies:

I want to point out first that I am very happy to be here this evening and I'm thankful [to the Afro-American Broadcasting Company] for the invitation to come here to Detroit this evening. I was in a house last night that was bombed, my own. It didn't destroy all my clothes, not all, but you know what happens when fire dashes through -- they get smoky. The only thing I could get my hands on before leaving was what I have on now.

The Poor Man's Wealth

By Sicebise Msengana

Ramchand and Premchand were neighbours. Ramchand was a poor
farmer. Premchand was a landlord.
Ramchand used to be very relaxed and happy. He never bothered to close the doors and windows of his house at night. He had deep sound sleeps. Although he had no money he was peaceful.

God's death and burial: How we killed God

By Sicebise Msengana
Pic: newgrounds.com

For thousands of years, gods, goddesses and supernatural entities have dictate the lives of many people throughout history. Mankind lacked the knowledge about the mechanics of the universe, and as a result we invented supernatural entities like God to explain why things happen; why do bad things happen, why certain bacteria caused illnesses etc. When religion owned all the markets for God, they had absolute control over the lives of the masses. Freedom and reason was stifled, many atrocious acts were committed in the name of these so-called gods and goddesses or spirits. It took brave, smart scientists like Galileo, Kepler and Newton that challenge the Church.

The Wolf in Sheep skin

By Sicebise Msengana
Pic: billionbibles

A wolf was walking in the countryside. He
found a sheep-skin spread on the ground. He thought, "If I wear this skin and get mixed up in the flock, the shepherd will not suspect me. At night, I will kill a stout sheep and then take him away with me".
The wolf covered himself with the sheep-skin and got mixed up with a flock of sheep. As he had expected, the shepherd took him as a sheep and shut him also in the pen. The wolf was waiting for the night.

Saying Sorry is Not Enough

By Sicebise Msengana
Pic: chatelaine.com

We live in an imperfect world marred by pain and suffering. Over time, there have been different ways to deal with this age-old dilemma. Many answers ranged from loving your enemies to simply asking for an apology. Probably the most famous of all forgiveness asking is begging a deity to forgive us: "Dear God [Allah], I am a sinner and need forgiveness." That's all it takes to beg for mercy and forgiveness.

Although these solutions are loved by many for their godliness, it has some dire implications. For example, Many White people living in South Africa supposedly experienced an epiphany and decided to put an end to the oppressive apartheid system. Or three centuries

The Hare and The Tortoise

By Sicebise Msengana
Pic: Ultracycling

Once, a hare saw a tortoise walking slowly with a heavy shell on his back. The hare was very proud of himself and he asked the tortoise. “Shall we have a race?"
The tortoise agreed. They started the running race. The hare ran very fast. But the tortoise walked very slowly. The proud hair rested under a tree and soon slept off. But the tortoise walked very fast, slowly and steadily and reached the goal. At last, the tortoise won the race.

Moral : Pride goes before a fall. Our pride just like the hare's will come before a fall. Our pride will be the ultimate cause of our fall.

African Fundamentalism

By Marcus Garvey

The time has come for the Negro to forget and cast behind him his hero worship and adoration of other races, and to start out immediately, to create and emulate heroes of his own.

We must canonize our own saints,
