Very few people fail to learn of the gruesome history of the Roman Catholic church. Most people are shocked to learn about the historical facts of the brutality of the Vatican.
Today, no person welds so much power and wealth as the Pope. It
has been estimated that Vatican owns vast properties, real estates
and riches of all kinds worth billions of dollars.
Well, this post is not intended to discuss the church's finances, but the power and influence the church has to over 1 billion Catholics worldwide. The Roman Catholic Church, a political and religious
system that has been responsible for many atrocious acts in history.
Throughout the millennia, the church had an agenda: to control,
indoctrinate, suppress and plunder. The Pope has been it's ruthless, despotic spokesman and claimed divine right for all the crimes committed by the church.
It dragged humanity down into the Middle Ages, millions of people who were seen as enemies of the Catholic Church were
systematically excommunicated, tortured, maimed, and killed for petty crimes such as heresy. Science was rejected and ignorance
reigned supreme.
The Church was instrumental in enslavement and colonisation of
foreign lands. Many missionaries [ and conquistadors] left their wayward countries to "save" the barbarians through imposing the gospel. This happened
at great human cost. Many people were killed in the name of God.
In the 20th century, it sided with dictators like Mussolini, Hitler,General Franco etc. The Church was silent during the Holocaust and Rwandan genocides. Why did the church act so inhumane, barbaric when it was suppose to preach Good News about the love of Christ? The Pope is very powerful and wealth. His throne is overlaid with pure gold and wears jewels. Why does the Pope have so much money and power? Is this biblical or even fair?
