Socialism vs Capitalism

 By Sicebise Msengana

Democrazy is a dictatorship of the bourgeois (big businesses, landowners and ruling class) and socialism is a dictatorship of the proletariat (working class).

Most of us are used to free market economies. People are generally able to conduct business with regulations generally limited to safety and fair business practices. Otherwise, it's up to the consumers to decide how much they produce for sale.

A command market is a market set by the government. Rather than individual businesses trying to create products and sell them, the government decides what's to be made and how much should be made. As such, the government yields considerable amount of power, and generally, one person will rise to the top. That person, having the most power, can effectively control the government through promotion and demotion. Their motives can be generally benevolent or malevolent (just about everyone else).

It's a lot harder to do this in a market economy because the economy and the government have a certain level of separation. Although capitalist governments act in favour of big businesses and leave the working class as slaves of capital. There are lobbyists, special groups interests, bosses who could control the government.
